If you or your museum are currently not members of the AMA, the voice of Alabama museums, you should consider joining. Membership in the AMA grants you all of the following benefits:

• Institutional listing on this web site    
  Everyone who's anyone in Alabama is on our site. Make sure that your institution is listed among the best attractions our state has to offer.
• Use of job postings on this web site    
• Reciprocal benefits program
  This is an optional benefit offered at no cost to you. If you wish to participate in the program, you offer a benefit to members of other participating institutions for one year from January to January. You decide what benefit to offer - a discount in your store, free admission, or anything else you want. It's that easy. The AMA maintains a list of participants which is sent to each participating member. Additionally, there are many benefits to you just for participating: Increased awareness statewide, increased visitation and revenue, and the ability to use this program as a membership benefit to help increase your own membership. For those in areas with several museums, you may want to offer a benefit only to members from outside your area. You get to choose.
• Subscription to AMA quarterly members' newsletter
• Subscription to AMA eList
  These email updates provide timely news about grant funding, educational programs, regional workshops, and job announcements.
• Inclusion of your museum news in the SEMC newsletter
  Share your museum's news with the AMA so that it may be included in the SEMC newsletter and website.    
• Access to both the AMA Members and Alabama Museums mailing list
  Currently numbering 150 contacts, thw AMA Members list contains the brightest and best contacts at Alabama institutions, as well as contact information for enthusiasts throughout the state. The Alabama Museums mailing list contains contact info for 160 museums statewide.
• Attendance at annual meeting    
• Discounted registration fees for roundtables and workshops
• Access to conference scholarships
  Want to attend a conference, but need assistance with the cost? When funds are available, the AMA can provide grants for members to attend AMA and SEMC conferences.

• Eligibility to serve on the AMA board and association committees
• Voting privileges in the AMA board election
  Institutional members receive one vote in this annual election.
• Representation on the state, regional, and national levels regarding issues of concern to museums and historical societies
• Networking opportunities with state, regional, and national museum professional organizations
